CHEER For Life Foundation Board Application
We are honored that you are interested in serving on the board of the CHEER For Life Foundation. This application is the first step in our effort to get to know you, your interest in contributing to the organization, and the energy / expertise you could bring to furthering our organization's mission and grant-making efforts.
Once received, your application will be reviewed and you can expect to hear from a member of our selection committee within 1–2 weeks. (Assuming your application is received in the open cycle noted below.) If you are selected to move forward in the process, we will request any additional information that might be required and look to schedule an interview with existing board members to discuss your interest and qualifications.
We are offering two different positions to structure board participation, depending on an individual’s interest and availability:
Board Members: Full board directors with voting rights, expected term of at least two years.
Board Observers: Contributors to the board and key committees / initiatives, expected term at least six months.
Everyone on the board is expected to attend meetings once a month, either in person or via conference call. (Meetings are scheduled on Saturdays and Wednesday evenings.) Board meetings are held in the San Francisco Bay Area when in person. Please review our bylaws for a deeper dive into board responsibilities – and we also welcome anyone interested to attend an open session to understand more about the board process.

September 16, 2022 – First Round Applications Requested
September 21, 2022 – Board of Directors Open Session (7:00PM PST)
September – Candidate Interviews (Remote)
October – New Directors Announced
